Caramel Brownies

  • 1 pound caramels
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
  • 1 German Chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in microwave or double boiler. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, melted butter and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Press half of the cake mix mixture into a greased and floured 9×13 inch pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees. When done, sprinkle chocolate chips over hot cake, then pour melted caramels over top. Sprinkle with pecans, then crumble the rest of the cake mixture over all. Bake for another 18 minutes. Cool before cutting.
