Chocolate Creme Cakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pkg choc. Cake mix
  • 1 pkg instant choc. Pudding mix
  • ¾ c. vegetable oil
  • ¾ c. water
  • 4 eggs

Mix-pour in greased 9 x 13. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minute. Cool 10 min then invert on rack- cool completely.

Filling:

  • 3 TBSP flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • ½ c. Butter or marg. Softened
  • ½ c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

In small saucepan combine flour/milk till smooth. Bring to a boil- cook and stir for 2 min(or till thick) Cool. In mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla. Beat in milk mixture till sugar is dissolved (5 minutes) Split cake into 2 horizontal layers- Spread filling over bottom layer- cover with top layer- cut into serving pieces. (can be frozen for a couple of months)
