Dried Beef in Sour Cream Sauce

  • 1 small can chopped mushrooms
  • 1 jar dried beef (in the canned meat/fish aisle of the store)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 3/4 cup Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • salt and pepper

Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. Cut beef in strips. Saute beef, mushrooms and onion in butter. Blend in flour. Gradually add milk and mushroom liquid, stirring until thickened. Add remaining ingredients and heat gently. Serve over noodles, rice, baked potato or toast.
