Lion House Gingerbread

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground clove
  • 1/ cup very hot water
  • bananas
  • real whipped cream

Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs and molasses. Beat well. Stir dry ingredients together with a wire whisk and add to creamed mixture. Add hot water and beat until smooth (batter will be very thin). Pour into a well-greased 9×13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35-40 minutes or until it tests done. Serve warm or cold with sliced bananas and whipped cream. Amazing!
