Maple Syrup

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp maple flavor
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Mix sugar and water, and bring to a boil for one minute. Allow sugar water to cool for 5-10 minutes, then add flavorings and stir. Leftover syrup can be refrigerated and reheated in the micorwave next time. Note: A 2:1 white sugar to water ratio can be used as a base for other flavors of syrup: Add 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, strawberries, etc. to 2 cups sugar in 1 cup boiling water for yummy fruit syrup.
