  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 pounds beef round steak
  • 3 Tbsp canola oil
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 1-1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Combine 3 Tbsp flour, garlic salt, onion salt and pepper.  Mix well.  Coat steak with the flour mixture.  Pound with meat mallet.  Turn meat over and continue to pound as much flour as the meat will hold.  Brown steak on all sides in 3 Tbsp. hot oil.  Layer browned steak and sliced onions in a slow cooker.    Mix 1-1/2 cups beef broth, sugar, Worcestershire in a separate bowl.  Pour over all.  Cover, cook on Low for 4 hours.   In another bowl combine 1/4 cup flour with 1 cup beef broth.  Add salt and pepper.  Remove steak from the crockpot and set aside.  Add flour/broth mixture to the crockpot and mix well.  Heat to boil and stir until thick and bubbly.  Return steak to the slow cooker and keep warm until ready to serve.  Serve over mashed potatoes.
