Breakfast Loaf


  • 3 ½ cups flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 8 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 cups sausage, browned
  • 2/3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2/3 cups shredded cheddar cheesePreheat oven to 400°F. Combine the first 7 ingredients with 1 cup warm water. Knead dough for several minutes, adding a small amount of flour, if needed, until dough forms a nice ball. Set aside. Next, brown sausage. Then, beat 6-8 eggs and ¼ cup milk. Scramble in a non-stick pan until firm. Roll out bread into a 10 x 16 inch rectangle. Place scrambled eggs down the center. Top with sausage and cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. With pizza wheel, cut dough in from both sides at an angle forming 1 inch strips. Braid over center ingredients to form loaf. Bake for 15 minutes or until done. Slice and serve with salsa.
